Do you know what a stodgy liberal is? I do. It is the given political position in some places in our country: You are liberal or you are a traitor. I used to think sometimes when talking to these people: I am just a person schlepping through life here—but you have a defined belief system? Gee! I liked them; I just found it surprising sometimes. I lived in California for ten years.

Big Question: Why do we have one of the sleaziest human beings ever to walk the planet in the most important position the world has ever known? Why are we doing this to ourselves?

California—by itself—is the world’s seventh largest economy. Most of the people are stodgy liberals. The current governor is moderately liberal. The sleaze in Washington DC is monumental. You can’t hold a nation together that way! The world’s seventh largest economy doesn’t need the rest of us.
