Think of yourself alone with a great idea, the great idea of our founding, America’s founding. There is no noise. You are out on the plains of North America. It is quiet, and you have an idea of what America is. You have an idea of our place in the world; you are proud that we are a beacon, an orientation, to the downtrodden of the world. Sit alone with that idea. Stop fussing with the gobbledygook of the moment—somebody said this, somebody said that—and see yourself, you, yourself, as very important in the grand scheme of this world, in keeping the idea, the very idea of America alive.

We redefined the world-order when we made ourselves a nation. Now, the political right has put up cheap-ass, cheap-shot artists for us to love and admire—theoretically. However, good people, our founders, put their lives on the line, and redefined what it means to be a nation: The people rule: but, now the people that rule on the right are just lawyered-up bullshit wranglers. They do not know the great idea that is America. Stop the lawyered-up bullshit, and think for yourself!

The great idea that is America is second only to the love of God when you consider the important things that have happened on Earth, including the highest and best aspirations of the great religions. Be alone with this great idea. Hold it in your hand. Think about what it is, how it has endured, and how much it matters in the history of the world. Believe in it—this great idea: Good people rule for the good of all the people. Let this idea rest in your soul. It has nothing to do with the neurotic bitchiness of the current political right. They may capture you for a moment with a slogan or a phrase or a let’s-get-those-dirty-bastards notion; but that is not America; that is the cheapening of America.

We are one of the greatest ideas to ever take shape on the Earth. Donald Trump has no place in it. He is a selfish, blustering fool, a scoundrel. He has no place in the great polemic: the good, the bad, the right, the wrong—he is a self-serving fool. He is not on one side or the other of this great idea, this republic ruled by enlightened people who love their families and want the best for everyone. That is America; rest alone with that great idea and understand what it is.
